Welcome to Our School Library
learning commons!
about the spaceOur school library came into existence in the winter of 2014, during the year our school opened. We are fortunate to have a very large and inviting library space with many windows and an amazing view looking west towards downtown Guelph. We have been steadily growing our collection of books since we opened and have lots of fiction and non-fiction items, picture books, and graphic novels. Students love coming here to check out books, sit and read, meet in clubs, or work in the makerspace. Staff also regularly seek out the library as a place to work peacefully or just contemplate the view.
If at any point you happen to be weeding your home book collection and would like to donate to us, we will be happy to consider taking your books. They must still be in good condition and, typically, we like books that have been published in the last 10 years. Graphic novels are always in high demand! Please let Mrs. Upper or Mrs. Coats know if you are making a donation.

a message from the teacher-librarianWhen I was 9 years old I discovered the Hardy Boys and since then I have been completely addicted to reading. So it seems like quite a privilege to spend so much of my time surrounded by books. I am sometimes told that I have the best job in the school, and that is certainly how I feel about it! I love that being in the library allows me to meet and work with so many students and staff members on a daily basis. I hope that our school library always feels like a welcoming place for reading, learning, and collaboration. Feel free to drop by the next time you are in the school! Mrs. Upper |
